The 47/48/49/50th Chennai PhotoWalk and hello, again, from Bristol
Vatsan’s got this one, I should say, in the bag.
The Chennai Corporation has grown. Chennai has swallowed up nearby villages/districts into the metropolitian area. This photowalk goes to one of the villages that have grown to become a part of the city. Thiruninaravur.
There is the wonder Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple which was built during the Pallava empire. The temple is supposed to be 1500 years. The temple is still surrounded by old style maadaveedhis, street houses and also the temple. This temple is a part of the 108 divyadesams in Tamil nadu.
This time the idea is to take a train from Central to Thiruninaravur. Leaving Central by 6.30 am for Thiruninaravur and reaching there by 8-8.30 ish. and then photowalking around the overgrown village and returning by 12ish to Central is the plan for the 18th of March 2012.
And assemble at entrance to the central railway station car park (Entrance leading to the Station not the one leading out of the station)
So there you go.
Salient details:
