The irony
Priya writes on my Chennai vs. Bangalore post:
Hello u chennai people, just dont bluff anything about bangalore. Bangalore can never be compared with chennai . Chennai is such a worst place . only roads are good and nothing else. can u find a good climate in chennai . can u find good resturants in chennai or atleast good buses . chennai is fit for nothing. people know only tamil. and nothing else. and they dont speak proper english also. but come to bangalore, we will teach u to speak good english, and wht only those stupid beaches are there in tht chennai which was afffected by tsunami. and it has lost its beauty . but here we dont have beaches but we have lots of greenaries. and we dont have dust, smoke and pollution. and see our bangalore buses they are so beautiful to see. but in chennai one cant sit in the bus.its just like a bullock cart. very funny. and i dont think tht food is good in chennai . only pongal and rice , wht else u get there no shit is there in chennai , see before commenting on Bangalore better try to improve ur Shit city Chennai. pls try to make it clean. and mind ur blady words and dont speak about our Garden city Bangalore. I LOVE MY BANGALORE.

Of course, this could be elaborate parody. If it is, we bows. If not, we still bows.
November 29th, 2008 - 14:08
“wht else u get there no shit is there in chennai”
Come on Chandru. She is talking about her basic needs here. She doesn’t get shit to eat in Chennai, whilst shit is all she gets to eat in Bangalore, err… Bengalooru. How can you expect her to be nice to a city that doesn’t fulfill her culinary needs?
November 29th, 2008 - 14:54
She can’t even spell bledy properly!
and we dont have dust, smoke and pollution
People, if the met. station recorded minor seismic activity, let me assure you that it was just me laughing to my heart’s content.
November 29th, 2008 - 15:01
The irony.
Indeed.
I refuse to entertain the possibility that this is an elaborate parody. We need morons who write such bilge to keep us entertained. Parody would be entertaining, but we would never be too sure if the joke isn’t on us.
November 29th, 2008 - 15:07
1. It is imprudent to compare 2 cities. What really can be the basis of comparison?
2. The girl just shot herself in the foot with her statements – completing the parody!
3. Your earlier post of Chennai vs Bangalore and the girl’s comments, both reek of jingoism!
November 29th, 2008 - 15:46
Hahaha – that’s just brilliant. People in Chennai know only Tamil. Hahahahaha – please ask her to stop now!
November 29th, 2008 - 15:51
Ha ha ha
She cannot be “blady” serious!!
November 29th, 2008 - 15:57
Krishnan: How true. I am ashamed. I am a callous, cynical, heartless S.O.B to deny a girl her food. I shall be more careful in the future.
Navneeth: The last three day’s rains are entirely due me crying so much I had tears in my eyes.
Vijay: Ah. Yes.
Sudhamshu: Thanks for calling me on that. Really. That particular post was written when I was a lot less cynical and lot more combative.
Anand: Oh, and deny us blady Chennai-people our education? No. No! She should not stop now.
Lemon: She most certainly is. Blady brilliant. Also blady blade. But blady.
November 29th, 2008 - 16:19
What really can be the basis of comparison?
The availability of palatable faeces, apparently.
November 29th, 2008 - 16:19
yeesh! who is this person ?
November 29th, 2008 - 19:22
LOL, paavam chinnaponnu. Sivaji Ganesan madiri.. oops Rajkumar sorry Annavaru madiri Unnarchigalai Kottibidutaaree.
November 29th, 2008 - 20:01
“wht only those stupid beaches are there in tht chennai which was afffected by tsunami”
I can really see that she is “blady” serious about giving us English lessons.
November 29th, 2008 - 22:46
Being a Hyderabadi, I have always hated Bangalore, not for the irony bit, but for these very people that constitute much of Bangalore, always trying to stroke their ego with such nonsense. But then again, it just may be that they deserve the new Bangalore. Even worse, the new Bangalore, deserves only such people.
November 30th, 2008 - 19:33
Wow you get comments for posts that are 3 years old?!
This lady is awesome really. Has put a smile on my face after a harrowing few days of being rained in and all the nonsense that’s been happening in Bombay. Thanks Priya!

Just when Rajini roped Vishnuvardhan for his latest flick Robo to ease the tension, we have this comment and the subsequent post.
Enna agumo innu Bayama kidhu pa ..

LOL!
December 1st, 2008 - 14:57
being a blorean – i am massively embarassed!
and a shade amused
i dont likes many things about chennai – but i dont likes many things about blore either – im the types who rants about ‘good ol blore’ when there were no traffic jams and north indians.
curdriceaurora – have stayed in hyd and i felt ppl there had a mind-block about bloreans being party-loving brats. it was weird cos im a big geek for blore standards or any standard but was called a brat when i was in hyd, jus cos i was form blore
each city has its own charm – i suppose the irony is also that many people conveniently forget about it

wah wah, 3yr old post and you get kaamentsu!
I’m guessin shes the gen.secy of the bengalooru rediff flamers association…
You should invite more from their asso to flame you, I’ll even put red carpet and wait with arathi thattu on my blog!
December 2nd, 2008 - 05:16
Haha. good sense of humour, that girl. I mean, it takes that much to bring a 3 year old post back to life and she gets it
December 2nd, 2008 - 21:16
I am from the garden city. Chennai is my home fro the last two years. I am enjoying my stay here but cant forget B’lore. Please stop comparing the two beautiful cities. Evcery city has its own strength and weekness. From where you can bring a beachand tsunami to Bengaluru, likewise you cant bring greenery and certain things from that city. every city has its own charm. After this terror attack to Mumbai can we stop going there. But all of you should agree that B’lore has got better hotels and eat-outs and they are more affordable.
December 2nd, 2008 - 23:45
And I thought only 3 year old “Linux vs Windows” posts get stupid comments
December 2nd, 2008 - 23:54
All: Yeah, this girl. pretty funny. Unless it is, like I mentioned, parody. In which case, beautiful, funny and clever.
Thanks for commenting, ya’ll. My usually snarky replies have withered at the stem wonly. So.
December 3rd, 2008 - 16:43
So people still comment on that post. You should have disabled commenting for that post but I’m glad you didn’t because then we would be starved of quality humour like this.
December 4th, 2008 - 00:23
“and they dont speak proper english also. but come to bangalore, we will teach u to speak good english”—”but we have lots of greenaries” !!
GREE-NARY?? Yaar sami iva?? Ivangalaam engendhu varaanga??
Dude… this post really hurts and the “chennai Vs Bangalore” post—> I m not able 2 take such abusive comments abt my city !! This is extremely provocative and i have been staring at the page for almost 1 hour now … mentally debating ..only to get more frustrated and angry.
But the post abt Chennai @ night !! waah—> so romantic. Lets have more such writings abt Madras.
December 4th, 2008 - 01:06
havent laughed like this in days
December 6th, 2008 - 12:07
Thank you for that man. That was really refreshing humour. Ever since the FSJ blog was shut, I have craved unadulterated blogging fun, only to find it 6 months later in my very own Chennai Blog! Priya is amazing!
My rant about B’lore is that “some” Bengaloorus have a very cold attitude, and they always undermine Chennai of how nobody here “partys”. Lol.
Maybe we should all take a walk along one of our many beaches and ponder about how we don’t “party”.
December 8th, 2008 - 18:06
Ha ha ha ha
oh man!!
H-I-L-arious!!
but i think u r being entirely too unfair man!!
“Hey what ya? Priya will teach us to spik good english and liberate us!!”
and what exactly did she mean when she said
//its just like a bullock cart. very funny
she laughed at her own amazing sense of humor of having drawn an analogy between our perundhu nilayam and a bullock cart??
:D
Sad people man
December 10th, 2008 - 10:55
Every city has got its own charm. I found Bangalore extremely bad in terms of the traffic sense and to some extent the buses also. I also observe that people who generally tend to spit venom on Chennai are those who probably have never/rarely stayed/lived in Chennai.
...and yes..till now I thought only posts on Rediff would invite such comments..surprised to see it on SelAM.
December 16th, 2008 - 10:36
I was in Bangalore once for a friend’s wedding and the bride’s best friend made this statement – “We, in Bangalore, are as busy as anyone is San Jose”
No, she doesn’t work in a call centre.
I was trying hard not to squrit rasam through my nose laughing.
May 8th, 2009 - 12:40
What a worse post..i am a chennai female staying @ bang..
For your info ppl @ bengalore are shifting to other places due to Congress grass problem and u say no pollution…?
And blore traffic sucks like a hell…!1000 of signals even to go to next stops..
Pls dont blabber abt chennai without knowing the truth
