369 years. One would think by now people would have come to appreciate a city and know it for what it is. But no. No!
Back to my haunt
Logic, taken to its logical conclusion, must necessarily lead to illogical solutions. More, taking logic to its logical conclusion itself is illogical.
Reminder: Ninth Chennai Photowalk
That’s this Sunday – 13th July 2008. 7 AM at the foot of St. Thomas mount. There’s a small arch at the entrance of the lane that leads to the top of the mount. Let’s all meet there and head out.
Tezaa – over a million opinionated folks.
A long time ago, I’d come across a smart service called Tezaa - a cool website that made sharing opinions easy. I wrote about it back then, after which Shalin, the guy behind Tezaa and I got talking over mail and chat.
Last week Shalin told me that Tezaa was fast approaching a a landmark – million opinions (on as many subjects?). Great going Shalin. And folks, if you haven’t yet used Tezaa, now is the time to do it.
Chandrachoodan Gopalakrishnan – published again
Being the parochial frog-in-the-well, I like nothing better than writing about my home town, my home state. Which is why, I am thrilled that a piece I wrote has been published. Windows & Aisles, the in-flight magazine of Paramount Airways carried the following piece, with very minor modifications. They also used two photos I’d taken. So even more thrilled.
The ninth Chennai Photowalk
We are back to our traditional second Sunday of the month schedule. The ninth Chennai Photowalk will be held on 13th July, at 7 AM.
The route – from the foot of St. Thomas mount to the top. Where rests the Church of our Lady of Expectations, a Nestorian chapel built around the year 1523. More history, legends and myths at the walk.
See you all there?
The Viva La Vida reading
It’s Frida’s 101st birthday. She was into kinky, macabre stuff. And Salma was really good in that movie. So.
Venue: Madras War Cemetery, Nandambakkam, Chennai (not far from the, um, Chennai Trade Centre)
