A lot of people these days look at the art of drawing kolam is an irritating, mundane ritual which makes them get up early in the morning. And, a significant number of people among them have quit the habit. Also, among the people who do draw kolams, they don’t use rice powder anymore. At least, most of them don’t. It’s sad to see that the art of drawing kolam has lost its significance.
