An unbridled criticism of the blogosphere

Is there a point to all the madness, the troll whoring [1], the stupidity, the condescension, the incestuousness[2], the stupidity, the insularity and what not of the blogosphere?

There’s Desicritcs, who, when they aren’t swallowing up legitimate comments, insist on speaking through their multiple hats. And if somebody, however hard wading through that muck is, manages to make a half-decent point, send out emails inviting them to join the DC team. I understand that having a blog entitles one to one’s opinion, no matter how idiotic it is, but when all that shit is piled up in one place – it stinks.

Then there’s Desipundit. Seriously, what’s with them? As much as I dislike admitting it, there was a time I liked the Desipundit. That was when it was still new – less than a month or two old. And then, the rot set in. (Aside: Odgen Nash was a genius.) I know, what’s rot to me is food for maggots. But, damned I will be, if my blog is compared to a festering cesspit. The best of the Indian blogosphere? I am the master of the known universe.

I’d rant on about the others – BlogBharti, Kafila, what the fuck ever. But, what is the point? It’s not like one expects quality from the blogofucksphere, does one?

    Hi
Saw your name on the jury of the Indian blog awards. Impressive I must say. I myself have been blogging since Sept 2006, and a doing a lot of interesting things there. The latest is the release of my new music album. As free downloads on www.shoestringtheband.blogspot.com

Please, when you find time, go through my blog. From start to finish. I assure you there’s not too much. And let me know what you think of it.

    See you soon.

    Manoj,
Sadly my days as a overseer of blog quality, as the arbitrer of justice and as the giver of blog awards, in short, my days as a Juror on Indibloggies are over. Finito, even.

But yes, will definitely listen to the songs.
