What blogging is. And isn’t.

So, I get asked this question. And, depending on who asks, (hot chick, NDTV, uncles, friends, dimwits from 1970) I answer differently.

  • It’s a tool

  • It’s social networking

  • It’s fun

  • It’s serious

  • It’s change

  • It’s citizen journalism

  • It’s where I write for myself

  • It’s where I write for my special audience

  • It’s where I use the word fuck without a second thought

  • It’s where I act pompous

  • It’s where I don’t act pompous

  • It’s the future

  • It’s knowledge management

  • It’s news

  • It’s the future of news

  • It’s an evolved, niche media

But what I leave out is: It’s all of the above. It’s none of the above.. Blogging is just blogging, for fuck’s sake. Don’t read too much into it. Or too little.
