Nandhu: It is more about sex than it is about humans – sex, when it was pushed underground, surfaced in the form of arts
Bindu: I doubt it is about love. Andal’s basuram is purely about her sexual fantasies about Vishnu. I was listening to a song, poet unknown – but classical tamil/karnatic song – it was Valli talking of how she lost her virginity to Murugan. Love wasn’t big there.
CCG - Andal’s paasuram which comes to mind immediately is Vaaranamaayiram, where in those ten songs do sexual fantasies come into play? As far as I know its about a young girl fantasising Vishnu as her groom. Why shouldn’t that be considered as love as Bindu says?
I think it all depends on how we look at it. Sex is a subset of a man-woman’s love. Love as such is global and can happen between mother-son, siblings, friends, motherland, husband-wife and so on.
I can tell so many examples of poems or paintings about motherland or even lovers where in the prime importance was given to emotions than to physical attributes or actions.

‘....and all’ : you are also doing this’and all’ thing and all …this is bad disease and all. oh sit i got it and all… cant stop it and all
