Cash for question-Parliament on sale

There is no alternative to punish the guilty, and thus I fully endorse the quick action of the Parliament in expelling those identified.

However, I am pained to note that no one is willing to see the other side. Whether only these 11 are corrupt, or could there be more?. It was clear that the sting operation met with 100% success. That is, all those who were approached accepted money. Had there been atleast one, who had said NO towards the offer of money, then we could have identified good and bad MPs. ( There is no name for the one who had refused to bite the bait). Thus one can conclude that, any one among 500 and odd MPs could have been proved potentially corrupt, had they been also approached with the offer of money. If this were to be the situation, the holier than thou action of other MPs on voting out these 11 seems questionable. How is that in both the operation, the Media has chosen more BJP MPs ? Is it to exhibit their impartiality that they included one MP each from other Parties. If it were so, then they should have chosen 3 or 4 MPs from each Party. I consider the entire episode is more like framing up operation and politically motivated.

Very true indeed. Everything in the world is relative and this must be seen as a percentage rather than in absolute terms. In politics you are innocent till proven guilty. It maybe a drop in the ocean situation. Criminals should also be banned from parliament.

Politics has never been a clean game, has it. World over politicians and politics has been tainted. We need to understand one fact that every field has good and bad. What are visible are the public servants and their deeds. Which profession does not have its share of corrupt ‘additions’. Why lament on these few when corruption is omnipresent.

What is your and my contribution to end this vicious circle? None. Do you reflect on this?

First things first. You are doing an awesome job,Mr.Gopalakrishnan. Its good to see the blog alive and running, after CG broke up his 2+ yr relationship.

As for this ‘operation duryodhana’ and their likes, they fall under the so called trying-to-prove-something-thats-pointless theory. When I took a second look at the entities involved – media, duryodhanas, arjunas, I changed my mind about this world being altruistic. Its just that they have found their own definitions for selfishness – “the state of losing your ‘self’ by gaining another’s ‘self’ and vice-versa”, making it even worse. The media seems to have lost its purpose; instead of being a powerful bridge for communication, it has started a new ‘news manufacturing’ unit. Survival of the fittest?! Thank goodness, Darwin is dead. Duryodhanas—“Cash for question?who?me?no way…you mean, getting money for asking questions in the parliament?errr..whats money?why do you keep telling parliament?by the way, where is it?”. Arjunas—“Operation duryodhana?! Hmmmm.Actually….are you sure that my name is not in the list. Pakka?Confident?Sure? huh,Thank God…. Oh yes, shame on them; they had spoilt the reputations of all MPs by their actions. Its embarrassing. They deserve an expulsion”.

Only one word could answer all the unanswerable questions. ‘Extinct’.

All I can think abt is Relativity Thoery! It applies to ppl too!! The crime is jus relatively indicated. Not tht the rest of them r clean.
(For tht matter….my comment wud seem relative to one of the MP’s who see this!! )

First and foremost, thanks for visiting my photoblog and liking the picture :-). I went through your post and that is an interesting thought process that you outlined. The environment, in which politics and politicians operate, is an ever worsening conundrum. It is nice to see a tangential point of view based on logical extensions; even though the media did ‘hint’ on this subtly but not one paper came out with such discussion. Discovered your blog after your visit on my blog, and I can say for sure that for now I am hooked :-). Cheers.

Thanks for liking the new picture :-). Most of the pictures on my blog were taken with the entry level camera Canon A60. The thing I love about Canon is that the cameras have manual controls even on the most basic cameras. I have recently graduated to Canon IXUS 750, and will be putting up new pics soon.

And yeah, get your father a blog soon. With such a thought process, it is surely going to be a hit. Thanks, once again… have a great day

I am absolutely with ur wishes.. because had it been a differentiation between good and bad it would have been easy.. The problem was, i think, the sting operation was specifically kept only for the MP,s who were known to have indulged in something bad. The media was deemd to have met with 100% success. What we still dont know is whetehr they had scooped on other MP’s also.. I mean they showed us 11, all bad, but they might have gone to , say, 15, MP’s the rest 3 being good fellas and did not accept the money, hence they did not show to the TV. Medai wants scoops thru defamation.. they got that too.
