The Mughals

For all their brutality and military power, the Mughal empire in India didn’t last really long did it? At best, 200 odd years, for by then (1700s), the British and French were at loggerheads for Madras

  1. semantic overload Says:

    Technology.. that’s what rules

  2. Chandrachoodan Gopalakrishnan Says:

That’s when you compare them to the Europeans (the British had canons by then and better guns), but that argument is not valid when the Mughal empire is compared to the earlier Indian dynasties, the Marathas, the Cholas, the Mauryas.

  3. semantic overload Says:

Well yeah.. true. But the fact of the matter is, that when the muguls attacked the kingdoms in india were decadant, they were the powers they used to be. Alos thanks to the fragmentation of territories, there was virtually no one who could withstand an onslaught alone, and provinces simply refused to co-operate. Check out some of the stuff that Francis Gautier has wriiten abt the mugal/islamic rule in India… makes you wonder about the lies that are taught in schools in the name of history.
