Chandra,

On my blog I have posted info about how you can get relatively jitter free images by using a stopgap Tripod arrangement made from Nylon strings… Have uploaded an image that will help make the concept clear.

The advantage: this stopgap tripod is light, small and easy to carry. Gives pretty good stability.

Try it out and let me know if it improves your photographs…
