The Book Meme

From Under The Fire Star, is this meme, which I am sure, is much better than the quizzila kind of inane stuff.

1. You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451. Which book do you want to be?

Plum’s Sam, the Sudden. I would give my eye to be Sam, of Sam the Sudden.

2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

Let’s see, Though I love books to distractions, and admired the people and the places mentioned, I knew they didn’t really exist. Even if they did, they would be different from the way the author drew them out to be. So I really didn’t have any crushes.
But If I need to stretch the point, prolly, Appollonia of the Godfather

3. The last book you bought is?

Folklore of Southern India, Pandit SM Natesh Shastri.

4. What are you currently reading?

Kalki’s Sivagamiyin Sabadham,
A short History of Nearly Everything – Bill Bryson,
Cutting Edge Advertising – Jim Aitchison

5. Five books you would take to a deserted island?

How does one choose between one’s children? How does one say this child of mine is better than this.
Well, OK.

Let me make it Five Authors

All of Richard Bach
Some of David Frawley, notably The Myth of the Aryan Invasion, Gods Sages and Kings, and Wisdom of the Ancient Seers
Kalki’s Ponniyin Selvan, Sivagamiyin Sabadam (though it is a bit of drag) and Parthiban Kanavu
Vestiges of Old Madras & History of the Tamils (History of the Tamils is by Srinivasa Shastri, not sure of Vestiges of Old Madras, but I club them both together)
Fountainhead and We the Living – Ayn Rand

Oh allright, five it is. Shall Stop here. Can I take a PG Wodehouse too. Please?

6. Who are you going to pass this to (three persons) and why?

Update: Jax has one
Not sure, anybody want to take this up?

is it just that its a good book or is there a collective consciousness after all ?

  2. Ravages Says:

It is a good book. And yes, there might be something called collective conciousness. But like the tricky question of God, it hasn’t been proved yet. So I tend to disbelieve in it.

Hmm.. sounds good. must try this meme soon.

I found a different type of book meme at Selective Amnesia. I thought I will give it a try.

You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?

Umberto Eco’s Foucault’s Pendulum. If I were a book, this is one …
