Again via Varnam, I found this brilliant, brilliant, extremely intriguing site that traces the journey of Mankind from our birthplace in Africa.
Watch the animation. Ancient Man almost passed through Madras on his way east. WOW!

That was a nice one.
Quite interesting to know where our ancestors were.
Ancient Man did pass through Bombay, I think, or so the Journey of MAnkind says.

Great work…how did they research it? Hemm…so we all started from Africa…what about that theory that south indians came from andaman islands…the people from africa sailed to andaman and settled there before going to south india?
