The Scian Melt 3
Welcome, welcome. For the third installment of the Scientific Indian Melt. The Scian Melt, as it is known to select bunch of fanatics is an attempt to popularise and bring to mainstream blogging, Science. In particular, science and India.
Starting off as a simple thought at the Scian Wiki, the melt has travelled far and wide, first at the Scian Blog, then at Rathodics and has now come here, before going on to it’s next port of call.
Alright then, history’s over. Over to the melt.
I shall start with something that’s close to my heart. Rather my stomach. Long time friends and fellow Madras Bloggers would know of my fondness for food. Is it any wonder then, that I am a regular visitor at Ze Chef’s Notes blog? MadMan, in his avatar as Ze Chef has been enlightening and en-salivating(?) me with his great recipes for quite sometime now. In this post he has a simple, and straight recipe to make good Fried Rice. But that’s not his only speciality. Check out his older Gado Gado and other recipes. And for a bit of science lesson, check out Basic Cooking principles
Alrighty then. I am tempted to use the “food for thought” idiom, but I shall resist.
Here’s a post nominated by Selva. In the post titled India and China – the Tiger and the Dragon, Indra Sharma talks of the inherent strengths in both the Indian and Chinese economic model, and believes India will definitely make it to the big league soon.
Something that would lighten quite a few hearts. Razib, at Gene Expression writes that everyone has sex, eventually. Whew. Thank God, or rather, evolution.
While we are there, here’s a funny post by Selva. Forgive me Father, for I have farted
Rajesh Jain believes it’s time search engines evolve.
Seshu Badrinath, of Tiffinbox has sent in this post about Raja Serfoji, the royal ophthalmologist of the Thanjavur royal family. The OMLog itself is a niche blog devoted to Opthalmology and Eye care, run by Seshu, on behalf of Sankara Nethralaya
That’s it folks. Do read through all the posts mentioned here, and elsewhere. The next Scian Melt will be hosted by Seshu Badrinath, at Tiffinbox. For more on Science and India, visit The Scian website.
