May be your hypothesis of numbers is true. There is a human psychological view of gaining strength in numbers. Whether the numbers is great enough or not there is a sense of non-loneliness in any group- that gives you strength and courage to do many things you would not do as an individual

Groups, I agree, are great company. But not a group for every thing.
I saw a society called “The Newpark walkers welfare society” in Madras sometime back.
What, I ask, is that going to achieve?
