Selective Amnesia There was a point to this. But I forgot.

When people talk of equality

When people talk of equality and all that, I want to scream out loud.

Equality, in small doses is ok. But it is boring. Equality is sameness, it is status quo. It’s uninteresting. It’s a flat piece of wood. No differences, smooth.

At first, it feels like a ride on the ECR (Substitute your favourite highway here). You can’t get enough of the flat surface and the smooth drive. Then it gets boring. The same level surface. Absolutely no relief. Nothing at all. Monotony!

I don’t want equality. The world was not intended to be equal. If it were, there wouldn’t be a Mt. Everest. There wouldn’t be the forests, there wouldn’t be the Marina.

So stop begging for equality.

10 yards and beyond

All of you, thanks for the concern. I’m really alright. Not hurt big time.
A few minor cuts, and a small burn when my leg was introduced to the silencer on the way up. (I was flying a few moments after the impact).

But that’s not the point I wanted to talk about at all. My meeting with an accident is pretty common these days. Darn motorists don’t have any sense. But beyond that, I wanted to talk about the legal and policing system of this city (which is typical of all of India) and that is where I was hurt more.

To those of you who read through the other post, sorry for the rehash, but this is something I surely want to talk about, and make enough people read, so pardon.

10 yards to death

Was involved in a traffic accident saturday. And came close to being squashed under Madras’s famed MTC Buses.

Stopping at signals when they turn red is generally assumed to be safe. Not so in Madras. A speeding car hits me from behind (darn coward), sending me leaping into the air (I never knew I was so agile, and so light) and squeezing my poor bike to a third of it’s original length.

Had I landed 10 yards further off, this post wouldn’t have been written.

Meet lovers of the world unite

Alrighty then. It is that time of the year again. A restless bunch of bloggers, and quite cranky, each in their special way, have nothing better to do. They tried coming up with better and better posts, but there’s only so much you can do with 26 letters.

So they decided to share and share alike. They created the phenomena called the Madras Blogger’s meet. And what a load of fun it has been.
5 times, in a space of 2 years. That’s huge. And to think that collectivism and cliques were going out of fashion.

A year of Amnesia

That folks, was an eventful year. A year of Amnesia. Selective Amnesia.

In this year, I’ve made at-least three lasting friendships, renewed ties with some old ones, and discovered a great new way to annoy and bore people.

Yes! I am happy.

Answering questions

Ok! I’ve had enough of people asking me what exactly is copywriting. I don’t mind friends asking me, but not every time we meet. I don’t mind the occasional jokes about copying and writing, and Ctrl C & Ctrl V, but sometimes, one just gets the feeling “enough is too much”.

So here’s an explanation. Sit back, listen. And as the famous line goes, “Dubara mat puchna..” Don’t ask again.
