Of thunderstorms and vamps.

A brilliant, amazing night. Yesterday in Madras. Thunderstorm. One phenomenon sorely missed in Madras, and a welcome visitor.
Missed those rollicking thunderstorms. A kid, (back then) I used to climb up to the terrace of our flat just to get wet and count the fingers in a bolt of lightning. Yesterday more than made up for all those lost days.

But one phenomenon I don’t miss at all is the one of Vamps in tamil films. Saw a rather sorry film of Rajni Kanth, with all the ingredients essential to a Tamil Masala film. Fight scenes, bad-ass villains, A friend who is the comic relief, and a Vamp/Cabaret Dancer/Villain’s girlfriend who has a heart of Gold.

Just set about reflecting on the disappearances of the said vamps in recent day tamil films. Probably people are getting more morally sound, and don’t want to see vamps. Or more likely, with main stream heroines only to glad to bare and dare it all, and item numbers a granted, Silk Smithas and Disco Shantis have had the carpet pulled from under their feet.

Queer: Come back, then, to madras soon

Sat: Vamp is an adult, seductive woman who generally tries to steal other men. Classic Silk Smitha.

Yeah. And I got stuck up yesterday after watching an OAT movie.
But the storm was nice, with full lightning effects.
And BTW, what is a vamp?
